There are loads of places you can get them cheap - Ebay Kleine Anzeige. But also bikes are readily available at cheap second hand bike shops like 'Fahrrad Willy' and also flea markets and Facebook as well (a lot of Erasmus students sell their old bikes when they leave). It is highly recommended to get a bike especially if you're far out from the centre - they're really great to use in the summer when its warm and just give so much more freedom and everyone has them, Leipzig is a really bike aware city!

Please tick the box on your registration form if you wish to reserve a room with interDaF. You can have a single room in a student dormitory. Various dormitories are available for the different courses. The dormitories are located in different districts of the city and are all easily accessible by public transport. Moreover, we can arrange a limited number of furnished rooms with private Leipzig landlords. Please note: we can provide accommodation during the course only. Should you arrive earlier or leave later, please refer to the list of budget hostels and hotels we have compiled.
I'm intending to spend this summer in Leipzig, Germany and I'm searching for an accommodation. My friends were in Stuttgart and they managed to find a good place in Kolping House in Stuttgart, which provides dorm accommodation also for non-students. It was relatively cheap and good. You will have to find an alternative. The biggest student accomodation in Leipzig is organized by the University, but you need to prove that you are studying in Leipzig before you get a room there. Another solution is the " Evangelische Studienhaus " which is however strongly religious (reformed) and they are not really clear if you need to be a student to live there. You best bet might be one called Youniq, which is more of an independent company running student homes (also as a investment opportunity).
