Busy in July as you would expect, showers seemed to be constantly dirty. Pleasant 'surf' town nearby with sand and shingle beach, spectacular waves. We won't be returning! Arriving at this 'popular family campsite' we were shown to our pitch which was on a slope halfway up a hill in a pine and motor home to be sited!!! We pitched as best we could and hoped the children didn't roll out in the night! Not expecting the thunderstorms and torrential rain to be the biggest problem as the rain just ran down the slope in torrents, flooding the tents and all in them........ pitched on sandy slopes so tent pegs don't grip very well. Washing up, toileting and showering were another matter altogether, Luke warm water at best filthy outdated toilet/ shower blocks that were usually filled with youngsters from the many surf camps situated on this 'ideal family site' playing loud music, shouting to each other and having no regard for others around them.

It is an historic, well known landmark, a traditional ski lodge offering a unique snow holiday. Sponars sits on the site of the original Kosciuszko Hotel whose Grand Slam Ski run was the first commercial ski slope in the Snowy Mountains. Sponars offers excellent accommodation in the snow, accommodating 100 guests in comfort. Sponars has a free carpark for guests – each morning either drive to the resort or catch the courtesy bus to Perisher Blue. After skiing all day have a swim in the heated pool and a session in the steam room followed by a cocktail at the bar.
